Leap Orbit, Command Direct Partner to Modernize Health Plans’ Provider Data Management
COLUMBIA, Md. – July 1, 2021 – Leap Orbit, the innovation partner to market-leading health data networks, announced a strategic partnership with Command Direct, a leading provider of multi-channel member communications, regulatory compliance solutions and specialized technology to health plans.
Through this partnership, Command Direct will bring Leap Orbit’s cutting-edge provider directory solution, Convergent, to new and existing customers. Command Direct will also leverage Convergent’s innovative provider reference data-as-a-service to enhance PAVE, its unique solution for managing data, outreach, technology and document services across carrier networks.
“We’re excited to be able to extend the portfolio of network management and regulatory compliance solutions we offer to our health plan customers,” said Gary Bolnick, founder, and president of Command Direct. “Not only are Convergent and PAVE complementary, Leap Orbit also shares our strong sense of mission in serving plans, their contracted providers, and their members.”
Convergent offers health plans and state Medicaid agencies a FHIR 4.0.1-conformant provider directory API that complies with all requirements of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Interoperability and Patient Access final rule. Given the rule’s implementation deadline of July 1, 2021, Convergent is the ideal solution as it is a turnkey SaaS product that requires little to no setup time. It also positions health plans to comply with expected regulations related to the No Surprises Act.
Convergent includes a number of unique features which make it the market-leading provider data management platform. Those include:
Convergent is a master data management platform that cleanses and deduplicates provider data using cutting-edge proprietary algorithms.
Convergent easily marries imperfect health plan network data files with a proprietary, nationwide set of reference data for clean, up-to-date provider data.
By using exclusively modern, cloud-native components and shared reference data, Convergent delivers powerful provider data tools much more affordably than legacy directory systems.
“Provider data is increasingly becoming a focus of the federal government’s cost transparency and interoperability efforts. It’s clear that health plans must invest in modern tools that will serve them well in a rapidly changing regulatory environment,” said David Finney, partner and co-founder of Leap Orbit. “Leap Orbit and Command Direct can offer a unique combination of solutions to serve these needs.”
The announcement aligns with a major trend in healthcare that is reorienting the overall sector: the shift to open data to foster greater patient control and technology innovation. Convergent currently supports healthcare organizations across a range of use cases, handling tens of thousands of API transactions per day. The Maryland Medicaid program recently went live with Convergent FHIR APIs as part of its initiative to comply with the CMS Interoperability & Patient Access final rule.
